Panasonic Releases Two True Wireless Earphone Models
Panasonic has launched two sets of AirPod challenging true wireless earphones - the RZ-S500W and RZ-S300W.
Following Technics' release of its first true wireless earphones Panasonic comes along and drops two - the noise-cancelling RZ-S500W and the RZ-S300W.
The premium RZ-S500W sports some of the tech found in the freshly announced Technics EAH-AZ70W, such as Dual Hybrid Noise Cancelling Technology. This clever tech uses a combination of both feedforward and feedback, as well as analogue and digital processing. You also get Ambient Mode that amplifies surrounding noise so you can briefly hear the barista, platform announcements, and such like.
The RZ-S500W also gets beamforming technology through the use of two microphones to increase the clarity of voices and suppress ambient noise during calls.
However, as the RZ-S300W eschews noise-cancelling skills, it means that its a more compact proposition than its pricier sibling. It also means that it wins on stamina too, clocking in 30 hours (7.5 from the buds, plus 22.5 from the charging case), compared to the RZ-S500W's 19.5 hours (6.5 from the buds, and 13 from the case).
Both sets have a cleverly designed Bluetooth antenna that's integrated into the exterior touch sensor to keep everything compact and tidy.
Additionally, they also get IPX4-equivalent splash-proofing and access to Siri and Google Assistant with Amazon Alexa support on its way very soon.
The Panasonic RZ-S300Ws and RZ-S500Ws are said to be available later this month in black and white, with the S300W adding a fresh-looking green finish. Local pricing has not yet been confirmed.
