Wd Tv Live Stutter

9 posts in this topic

Hello, my media player is stuttering during playback from the WD external hard drive (avi files). My research on the net seems to indicate it could be due to the latest firmware upgrade and the recommendation is to roll back to the previous version.

Before I try this (i'm scared) I wonder if anyone else has had this issue and resolved it?

Many thanks

FWIW I wouldn't worry too much. FW updates just completely overwrite the existing one (newer or older). There's a seperate hardware chip that handles the process so even if you have a powerfailure half way through an upgrade you can just restart the process over.

What version are you on? I'm running V1.06.15 without any problems...

We must have a different model, i've got 1.06.04 which is the latest for mine.

Windeath, not streaming at all, straight from the portable hard drive (via usb)

I noticed that not all movies are affected, so i'm going to delete a couple of test cases, re-copy from the pc, and try again.

Nup, deleted originals and re-copied from pc no change. I've looked at the properties from the originals on pc and there are a couple of differences from movies that stutter to one that doe'snt, is there anything in particular i should be looking for? I notice data rate, frame rate and total bit rate differ but I don't know what any of that means.

Thanks

Hi,

I am having similar trouble with my WD TV Live, running firmware v1.07.18.

Everything is sweet, except when I try to play RIPs from BluRay.

My old WD TV plays these beautifully.

I only play media from a USB attached hard drive.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
