  11. Is it an HDMI to CATx extender or does it convert it to IP. If it's an HDMI to CATx extender then there are length issues. You may only get 10m-40m. If it's IP then you get what the xBase-T is (usually 100m). I've got a HDMI to CATx at home and I get about 30m (CAT6A and a patch panel in between). I still have the issue where it won't do 1080i, just 720p. If I reduce the length then it works at full speed. Mine don't require crossover cables, so it won't matter if it's A or B, infact nothing does unless you are needing a crossover cable and even then you don't need one or the other, you need one of each.
  12. In wall speaker cable

No. Only a registered cabler with their structured endorsement. An electrician may have these certifications though.
  13. In wall speaker cable

The regulation only pertains to cabling that is intended to connect to a communicaitons netwsork. IF the speaker cable is connected to a device than can connect to the internet (via wireless or wired) then those connections must be completed by a registered cabler, however that is a long bow to draw to the speaker cable itself. Easies way to get an answer is to contact the ACMA as they are the only ones that can give you an accurate answer, not me or any other forum poster.
  14. The Official Emotiva Owners Thread

Yikes, $999 for the XPA-5 (US dollars) on the Emotiva site and $1,999.00 (Australian Dollars) for the local shop. The XPA-1 is $1,099.00 (US dollars) compared to $2,199.00 (Australian Dollars).
  15. I got mine fixed in Australia last year. No questions asked, just took it in, they changed the board and then I got it back. Onkyo extended the warranty repair for the affected HDMI boards for many years. Check with Amber Technology to see if yours is covered.
