If you need to transport a 50" plasma in a vehicle, should the screen be separated from the stand if it's going to be transported upright?
diesel
All depends on how you will ensure it will securely remain upright and how you will transport it.

I'm not at home at the moment to check this, but to remove a Pioneer plasma from it's base do I need a screwdriver or alum key?

Usually the Panasonic stand has 4 large phillips head screws attaching the legs to the TV

You can leave it on the stand.
Just carry carefully and keep vertical.
Wrap in blankets or put into original box.
Any removalist will know what to do

Thanks. Managed to separate the screen from the stand without any problems. I sold my TV and wanted to make sure the gentleman was able to get the TV home safely.
