I'm looking at the Samsung B650 32". Will let you know on Monday after I go to Costco. Right now, lowest price I've found is at Digitalcentre at $1398, but that includes an HDMI cable.

Checked today in JB-HiFi Belconnen (ACT) for a 32'' Sony V5500. The price including 4 additional year warranty is 1,390. This is the best price I have seen so far in Canberra.
the sharp 77 32" lcd has a list price of $1500 or so, so if can get it for $1500 you'll be doing pretty well.
for the most natural colour balance and good blacks best I could find in currently whats out there

Sorry, didn't find the B650 at Costco, they only have the B550. I don't know if they will get one in in the near future.

I think it was around $1150 give or take a couple of dollars. I didn't get to check what cables came with the set, but the good part is: if you don't like it, you can take it back for a full refund.

So the consensus for a 32" LCD is Sony or Sharp or Samsung B650? I'm looking for one up to and around $1,500.
What about pioneer?!?

Got a Sharp LC-32D77X from Clive Peeters yesterday for $1199 + $99 for another two years on the warranty (total of 5 years). I'm not sure how long that deal is running for, however.

I'm also looking for a 32" FullHD LCD for the bedroom. Any recommendations?
I'm really happy with our 50" Samsung and would be happy to roll with Sammy again, but thought i'd do the right thing and ask those in the know.
Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG or Sharp? Happy with those first 3 brands, but have heard some good re the last 2.
Thanks guys!

samsung LA32B450 ($800)
pana TH-L32X10A ($830)
toshiba 32AV600A ($760)
LG 32LH20D ($800)

I Have a Toshiba 600A in a bedroom, I Find that definition colors are as good as Pana and LG.
Laptop , Beyonwiz Dp-S2 and X Box Displays are Brilliant. Good Display.
LG (as main TV), which my mate bought , has a Pana-SD Recorder ( for his recording )running off it .
He watches his HD on TV.
Other mate has Pana ( as main TV) and Beyonwiz Dp-S1 with Marantz Surround Sound and Motor Racing is unbelieveable.
HD Viewing by TV alone, Toshiba,Pana,LG, (with maybe new Samsung 200 LCD)
Sports Cricket, Rugby/League/Union , Pana Slightly better Toshiba next LG last.
I know its not easy, but I hope to be shed some light.

I am thinking of using one of these as a large computer monitor, mainly for music video's and photo viewing, would the image PQ be good enough?
A large monitor costs almost as much.
Cheers.

I think the Full HD B550 should be OK. I have a 32" HD LCD plugged into a PC and while it's OK for watching movies, the lower resolution (1366X768) makes it impossible to use as a monitor.
I must admit I found the idea of a 32" Full HD monitor for my PC for $888 very tempting but the wife wouldn't have any of it so I'm stuck with a 20" monitor for now.

Firstly my apologies for posting in this thread, however I am unable to start a new topic and this problem is driving me crazy !!!
I have just bought a Toshiba Regza LCD TV (32AV600A) from Harvey Normans today - $599.
After doing the auto channel set-up it gave me 21 digital channels. Many were duplicates so I completed the 'channel skip' function which left me with 11 channels.
I then edited the channel numbers in 'channel edit' from 1-11 and then arranged the channels in order using 'channel sort'. Everything seemed fine, the tv worked as it should and I was happy.
Alas, when the tv was turned off and then back on again the 'channel edit' and 'channel sort' had been undone and the channels were now out of order and with different channel numbers associated with them.
I have done this numerous times with the same result. I followed the manual and did everything as I should.
I would be most grateful for any assistance possible as it is really frustrating!!!!

Welcome to the Forum KB
Have you tried setting up Favourites List (pg14). This is what most people do as it's easier to manage than deleting channels, skipping channel.
