I've got a Topfield HD box and I get intermittent audio drop outs only on ONEHD. All the HD and other channels are OK. I have the menu set to output Bitstream. When I change to from Bitsream to PCM the problem goes but of course I get the lesser quality sound on all other channels. I have tried another brand HD box in the same system with the same drop outs. I was wondering if the problem is in the signal quality(although video quality is very good- picture is great). Audio is via coaxial cable to a high quality Integra Receiver. Appreciate any suggestions.

using PCM should be fine as it is uncompressed, and in your area, it should be the same as mine, all SD Channels MPEG only, all HD Channels DD only, however ABC1 SD has DD 5.1 and MPEG on SD and SBS HD has MPEG Audio only.

The only affect PCM will have is that it'll be limited to 2ch which is all that MPEG offers on DTV and PRIME HD is only DD 2ch, and only very occasionally does ABC HD, NBN HD or ONE HD do 5.1.
