I was wondering if anyone else in the Canberra area has recently purchased a Beyonwiz FV-L1 PVR and are having issues retaining any of the ABC stations? I've started a thread on the BW forum and it was mentioned that Canberra users could have issues, though thought I might see if people had issues here.

As noted in one of the other threads (for which I still need help, please) I have problems retaining any HD stations in general, but can't even get the ABC ones at all (tuning through in-built tuner in Bravia)

Canberra's ABC is transmitting on ch 9a, 205.625mhz, it is .125 off center frequency. This can muck up some tuning. the Sony is one we have had trouble with. check freq that is listed in the channel plan, if it's 205.500Mhz try a manual entry 205.625Mhz. if it's channel 9 try channel 9a.

Hope this helps.

Have found my solution thanks to Peter(prl) and TonyMy on the Beyonwiz forum and a BW Tech.

It turns out that I was losing ABC due to DCM (Dynamic Channel Management) which was enabled by default on my PVR. It seems to be an issue in Canberra with the ABC not transmitting correctly (though something a tad more technical was mentioned). I contacted Beyonwiz today, and they were aware of the Canberra issue and provided my with a new firmware version which disables DCM by default. Worked a treat and now ABC is retained!

So if you have purchased a Beyonwiz FV PVR and live in Canberra you will most likely have the same issue and will need to contact BW for the new firmware as it isn't available to download.

AndreasM, I don't know if your Bravia has the same issue, but if you have a DCM option in your settings, it might be worth turning off.

thanks for that both Gadget and Mozcat: I'll try that. Then I just have to work out why the TV keeps losing its tuning regularly altogether...
