Hi, I am looking for one of these units, I need a HD stb that has composite and component outputs and can upgrade to a PVR with a serous HDD and the media player options are nice too.
Is there anything comparable in this price range anywhere?
I heard from a salesman that this unit is now discontinued...is this true?
thanks

a summers night?
You can find them on the BW website for sale $300
http://beyonwiz.com.au/products.aspThe H1 will only ever be a single tuner PVR. Not sure if it has media playing capabilities.
But I'd be questioning why try match the short term STB requirement? Get a 'proper' PVR that might be overkill in the short term but is what you want in the longer term.
There's a thread dedicated to PVRs that don't have harddrives (Think strong does a nice one) search back a bit.

Hi Peter, nah not summer, winter!....less mozzies, we live in FNQ:)
We already have a Toppy 7100 that works flawlessly but need the Beyondwiz for delivering HD tv when the Toppys tuners are fully occupied and it also must be capable of delivering sd images to our Panasonic hard drive recorder (hence the composite outputs) to eventually burn her kids shows on DVD...hence the need for the unit above or something similar.
Thanks will chase up your link and the strong.
any others out there?

The H1 is the same as the P1 apart from single tuner and can only be a client, not server for the TV streaming, and thus will do everything the P1 does including media streaming. I haven't heard of any retailers selling them, they only appear to be online, such as from Beyonwiz themselves.

Crusher used to sell them, but as Peter said, you can them from Beyonwiz direct.
The other alternative is
Strong SRT 5440 High Definition STB PVR - Same as the DP-H1

Hi, man,
will you buy a Box with 500G HDD
and at the same time, with all the function you mentioned above on 450AUD?
I think such kind of box will land on Oz in two months

Thanks again for the replies,
I seem to keep coming back to the dp-h1, it's the highest spec for price I could find with rgbrw/rwy in separate outlets to make my plan work. Been reading some reviews on the net and they are not particularly shining but ok. The strong seems to be only rgb/rwy which is not enough spots I think, unless I spliced into and split from the rw in the rwy, mmmm....is that possible?
A new box, 500G and $450?, I would consider that if it has the outlet jacks, what brand if i can ask that? Suppose it would be a fair few steps closer to a dinki di media player than the beyondwiz? I will get smacked over the back of my head by the inhouse bank manager if I need to ask for a dedicated one of those as well!
Well I am sorta stalled, if I could have touched the h1 in a store I would probably own it already, not really trusting enough these days to purchase items like this over the net, have tried every store within range and no luck.
thanks and cheers

Snorri,
I bought a H1 in late March, it's been faultless so far and we use it to play streaming media ( of a variety of types ) from the PC for at least 2-3 hours a day.
