G'day

Just after a hdtv stb, nothing fancy just needs to be quite sensitive so being able to pickup a stable picture where others fail.

Was looking at buying from Strathfield if they haven't shutup shot yet. So I'm guessing my brands would be DGTEC & Topfield?

I'd like to pickup from them or otherwise Dick Smith as I'd like to catch the footy tonight with it. So can't buy online.

Thanks

Go with Dick Smith. They have a 12 day no qs asked money back guaranty. No need to spend much more than $100. I've found there's little worth in trying to second guess reception capability. It varies box to box and a dirt cheap model can out perform something thrice the price.

Heck grab a couple of models and return the worst performers.

We got a "digilink HDV2500" a few weeks back because it had HDMI and was only $99 with a 10?day trial period, from JB Hi Fi. Reception is no problem for us.

LIKES:
"instant" channel change,
runs COOOOOL (many are great heaters),
seems to have all (and more) features we want.
$100. What do the others do for $350???

DISLIKES:
I can't find a way to assign channels to numbered remote buttons so far although a Favorites list helps,
weak remote (the STB sits behind us with our other gear. We can aim other remotes forward at our projector screen to operate everything but this STB)

the local dse had a limited range as in only 1 type of hdtv stb under $200 heh. I got it as I want to watch the footy tonight, its the DGTEC DG-HD03. With the rabbit ears i bought it picks up everything without any reception problems.

It sucks tho that its not as good as the SD teac stb where it tels you what program is running when u switch to that channel sad.gif

Hi Folks,

This STB needs to be treated with some caution. I have one and it radiates interference at analog channel 10 frequency so that if you use the antenna out connection and a downstream analog tuner analog channel 10 will be unusable. The is another post on DTV Forum on this STB that's worth a look.
