Full Version: Epg Data For Hd Channels In Regional Australia

The Tivo and the OTA EPG's do not have consistent information for Southern Cross and Win here in Cairns HD broadcasts. By consistent I mean showing what is on instead of the generic HD headline. This leads to a couple of questions, do other EPG (such as IceTV) providers have this data? Is this an Australia wide, regional problem or just here in North Queensland?

SC10 isn't broadcasting any HD unfortunately, just their loop, the problem with win, is they do no up-scaling and they don't show everything in HD that's available to them in HD, they only show enough for them to meet the 1040hrs quota.

Thanks, the questions was more about the EPG, lot's of shows are now being shown on WinHD in Cairns at the moment, but no guide, a few with SC10 and no guide also.

SC10 is showing some HD programmes? I thought the 24hr HD loop was Australia wide.

I called SC 10 in Canberra yesterday to ask about what was happening to SC 10 HD from tomorrow (Mar 26 - start of Ten's ONE HD). They said that they're "testing the infrastructure" and it will be available "later this year".

ONE HD will carry only sport, so from Mar 26, I imagine you can expect to get nothing in HD from SC 10. When they do start carrying ONE HD, there will be no drama (or anything else that's not sport) on it. The "extra" channel ONE (SD), will simulcast ONE HD.

The other commercial broadcasters haven't even said what changes they will make for Freeview.

I have noticed that Win HD and Seven HD (in Cairns) have started showing alternate programming, mostly during the day and late at night, from the standard digital/analogue broadcast. Mostly made of movies and older TV shows. Is this a Freeview preview?
SC10 is still stating that they will start broadcasting on HD in July, with no firm date.
