Nah my display can only do 50/60i - so still wouldnt help my pulldown problem

and im happy with the HTPC scaling..
Probably making the decision a little easier was also my amp is 5.1, no hdmi, DTS/DD5.1 (not truehd etc) so I rekon i'll just be happy with my old-school setup and when the HT refresh (you listening Mr. Rudd??) comes in in a few more years will get back in the 24p game

Bitey,
you have made your decision and seem satisfied with it. You must be quite sensitive to judder.
However for me, there is no way I would abandon my Blu-ray setup.
Using analogue out from my HTPC, the multichannel sound is -- I find -- often a definite step up over Dolby Digital through an optical or coax setup. And of course it is at the correct speed and pitch, not sped up 4% like most PAL DVDs!
I find the step up in resolution, and colour, from DVD to Blu-ray/HD-DVD remarkable. The introduction of 3:2 judder -- for me-- is a small price to pay, in comparison wth the big improvements in these other elements of picture goodness. Most of the time I am not conscious of the judder.
I have a Blu-ray of
Amadeus and the richness of the colour and the detail in the picture are outstanding. The last time I saw that movie with comparable brilliance would have been in 1984, at the cinema ...
My next TV display will be 24p capable and I will enjoy the smoother movement, but until then I will be quite content with 60i.
Cheers,
