I recently bought this very cheap from Jaycar, they had on sale for half price, when i asked why so cheap, they said "it wont recieve some digital channels". So i i took it home and set it up, tuned in all channels except channel 9(adelaide city), it just didn't pick up the signal when it scanned channel 8(191.50), i even tried manually scanning, but no luck, my bravia picks up ch9 no worries.

Anyone else got one of these STB's??

Model Grandtec - DVB T-Master (model 2)

Any help is appreciated;)

fixitdude74,

There are several digital tuners around that won't automatically find channels which have an offset frequency, as they only tend to tune in 500KHz steps.

Channel 9 digital in Adelaide (from the main Mt Lofty TX) has a frequency offset of +125KHz, so the correct tuning frequency is 191.625MHz.

If you can enter that frequency in manually, it may work for you.

Thanks for your info. mtv but all of these units provide auto-install so a little more info may be required.

Fixitdude - you must realise when you buy something that you have been warned about that you need a fair bit of knowledge to get the value out of your dollar.

I will be watching this thread as it sounds interesting....we do on-sell Jaycar products.

I'm not familiar with the product, only that the frequency required for Ch 9 is 191.625MHz.

As you seem to be more familiar with the unit, perhaps you can explain how to input frequencies manually?
