Just bought this unit today from target. I've set it up and attempted to auto tune about 10 times, but all it will pick up is SBS and WIN (9). No ABC, 7 or 10

I'm on the Sunshine Coast, QLD and I have previously been able to recieve all channels on a borrowed panasonic TU-CT20A which is by no means fantastic technology, so I know it's got nothing to do with my antenna.

Anyone else experience this problem? Is this unit absolute rubbish, or have I done something wrong?

If I can't get this thing working by monday, it's going back to target.

Cheers,
Andrew

Well, no answers so I guess that either a. nobody has this unit, or b. nobody else has any problems with it.

So, I've taken it back to Target for a refund, and bought an Olin HVBT 2000.

It is working perfectly.

My advise to anyone else with the Teac - get rid of it!

Cheers

Only just looked at this topic, so from where did you buy the Olin?

My general feeling is not to buy technology from stores that discount bras and kid's clothes unless you have researched well before. Thanks for info.
My advice, research first!

Sorry i didn't notice this post earlier. I've got this model STB and i had a similar problem at the start. I'm on the Gold Coast with good reception and despite numerous attempts it would only tune SC10 and SBS. Even doing a manual tune it wouldn't pick up anything else. I left it hooked up over the weekend and was going to take it back on the Monday. I decided to give it one more attempt on the Sunday night and it picked up ever available channel at 99% Signal and Qualtiy. Maybe the SDB451 has some issue that requires it to be switched on for a day or two before the tuner works properly. Unlikely, but who knows.

This was 5 months ago now and it has worked perfectly since. Pretty good for $59.

Got the Olin from target as well, $99. I researched this one, there are extensive posts concerning the Olin. The Teac was an unplanned, spur of the moment purchase. I've been borrowing a Panasonic from a friend and hadn't gotten around to buying my own, so I decided I'd better do that and return his to him.

Channel 12 is currently known as TenSD2. It is an SD simulcast of Ten HD. As of the 26th March Channel 12 will provide an SD broadcast of Ten's new 24 hour sports channel, OneHD. There is currently no SD simulcast of 7 or 9's HD channel. You will need an HD box to view them.
