Very sad as Pebble provided a low cost alternative for many products. Let's hope they can trade their way out of the current situation.

Our Conia plasma just did too!

Turns on fine....
OSD is fine.....
but no picture from PS3, Foxtel or out STB.
just goes to a black screen when you switch to the source.

So does anyone know a place in the MELB SE to get a conia plasma fixed? or know a fix for my problem.

Check that all the cables haven't been pulled out by an over-zealous person dusting. If all connections are okay then something is afoot on the mainboard. Conia have advised they will be still servicing their products...go to the website and use the contact number.

Franga (Love the name, btw!!! smile.gif,
I still reckon someone's moved something. Changing channels on your IQ box wouldn't cause a mess like that. Go through the menu of the tv and select the option that says either "system reset" or "factory default" or words to that effect. Every large set has a control like that and it basically clears any stuffed-up settings and puts the onboard tuner and computer chips back into the state they were in when you pulled the set out of the box.

Once you've done the rest, turn the telly off...leave it fully unplugged for a couple of minutes, then restart it, making sure, once again, that all connections are firmly in place. You'll have to re-tune the thing and reset all the picture settings but I'm willing to bet that things will go back to normal for you. Give it a try...you'll only waste a few minutes of your time...won't cost you anything. smile.gif

FIXED!

I went to the TV to try what you suggested and could not find a system reset. But going through the menus (which embarrassingly I had been through MANY times since this all started) and I noticed that the brightness, contrast etc were all set to 0 (out of 100). I turned them all up and wouldn't you know it I got picture!
Ohhhhhh so so simple!

Its just strange how it all happened changing channels on Foxtel (via a Harmony 525) and bang all the setting went straight to 0, no fade down (including the sound menu). Hmmm the Harmony must have sent an odd signal to the TV!?!

So Dr. Zachary Smith thank you so much for your help and suggestions, look forward to chatting to you again (hopefully when something does not go crazy!)

Well...that was an easy fix, huh??? I'm glad my meagre advice was of assistance to you. Regarding the settings going to "0" I'd be willing to bet that the Harmony remote has, indeed, sent a conflicting signal to the Conia's IR receiver. I'd give the people at Logitech, Foxtel or the actual makers of the IQ box a buzz to see if there have been any other similar reports. Good luck!!!

Yes, imagine how you would have felt when you picked up the set and the service people said something like:

"We found no fault with the tv. That'll be $100 for the inspection."

Ouch!!! ohmy.gif

What a shame. I think.

Konka CRTs bore the brunt of many jokes thanks in no small part to it's unfortunate name (was the Pangoo of the early 2000's) but damn they were pretty solid.

My 7 year old Konka CRT is still going strong and has outlasted a few of its younger, more technologically adepth counterparts. Same story with my brother-in-law's.

I'm just waiting for it to keel over and die (touch wood) but it still keeps going...

No...Franga...you're fine...someone posted random comments in this thread which have now been deleted. It was a spambot, which you are not!

Nothing wrong with Konka tellys...Konka is a big brand in China. Even if Conia (who was their Aussie importer) can't trade its way out of trouble Konka will still be around, albeit overseas. So you'll still be able to get bits for your telly, don't worry.
