Well, AFL season starts. Prime HD says it's showing the game at 8:30 PM.

It's now after 9PM and no NAB cup. Rang Prime in Canberra and got the after hours answering service. THey can only log a complaint but there's no one to speak with.

Does anyone have any idea where Prime's "control centre" is for their broadcasting? I know that Win is in Wollongong and I've called them in the past when there are HD issues and they have technicians there 24x7.

Any idea where the Prime people are located to let them know something's wrong?

Thanks in advance.

You'll probably find Prime technicians with their heads buried in the sand. It appears as though little effort is required from the regional stations, or in the case of SC10, no effort at all.

I am having the same issue with afl on prime hd from both lismore and coffs. No afl even though it say it on their epg and a pdf on their site. I'm really annoyed by the incompetence of prime.
http://www.primetv.com.au/i-cms.isp?page=1.13.77.4 some contact details for prime. don't think it will help much.
**** they are hopeless.

benjamin92, Thanks for your reply. I did fond that page and called the Canberra number. No surprise. "After hours answering service" and the woman told me they've been receiving lots of calls and complaints.

I'll ring Prime during their "working hours" on Monday and see what excuses they can come up with as to why they didn't (or couldn't) broadcast the scheduled and announced programs.

If there's anyone out there that happened to hear any announcements around 8:30 last night as to why the football wasn't broadcast, I'd really appreciate the feedback but I suspect that there wasn't and there wasn't any notifications during the night, even a running ticker to let people know whether there were problem or not.

Anyway, thanks again.

This almost certainly has nothing to do with technical issues, and everything to do with business.

Normally the regional networks show different ads in each different transmission area, with the ads being somewhat local to the transmission area. It seems that the regional networks don't have the equipment at each site to do this on the HD channels, probably because the cost-to-benefit ratio for them isn't ideal. The result is one set of ads for the entire network or no ads at all.

Obviously this hurts their bottom line, especially as more people start watching the HD channels. The networks' solution: stop playing shows (especially high-rating ones) in HD to force people to watch the ads that they can play on the SD channels.

Hiding behind the "technical issues" excuse is a convenient way to avoid publicly admitting contempt for their viewers.

I think last night's screening of Hotel Babylon on WIN was better ascribed to incompetence, rather than malice or technical inability. The show was on for a while, then demo reel/ad break .. which suddenly changed to Laddette, then back to demo reel for good!

This Freeview marketing campaign is money wasted, that could be better spent providing us (at least the ACT) with decent HD programming - then perhaps word of mouth would do the talking for them. (Never mind that the crippling of the EPG is one of the "features" of Freeview.)

Well, now there's no EPG for primes channels. I've only got two words for the FTA broadcasters, and you can probably guess what they are.

Time to upgrade my internet plan. wink.gif

on the Mid North Coast of NSW, PRIME's EPG is stuck on "not going out" and PRIME HD's EPG just keeps saying "PRIME HD". So it's not just a problem in ACT.

We have no epg for PRIME at all here in Newcastle
