It would want to be better than the 892 which had slow channel change (5-6 seconds) and when whatching channel 10 it showed the sound bars on bottom left corner , which i beleive some stb`s can overide that.

Here's a more direct link.

Anybody used one of these yet?

Does it have concurrent SD/HD output?

(what I really want is a SD HST817 with RF modulated output biggrin.gif )

Under Accessories it says:

DVI to HDMI lead (with Audio) 1.5m

How do you connect audio via hdmi from this box? I have never heard of a dvi socket that ouputs digital audio?

According to the Specs:

AUDIO OUTPUTS Optical and Coaxial S/PDIF Digital Audio stream or Dolby AC3 (5.1)
2 x RCA (2 pairs) Analogue - Stereo, Dual Channel or Mono

does this mean i have to run a seperate audio cable?

I don't have this box, was just wondering smile.gif

I just test drove one of these new 893 Healing boxes. They are very good! Good because all of the faults that were reported on this forum with the 892 model have been fixed! Now thats a quality outcome and is a credit to the manufacturer and supplier.

Slow channel change! fixed

Annoying Blue Light! Fixed

Rattly remote control! Fixed

Inabillity to keep user settings after a power failure! Fixed

With its centre cut functionality and sensitive tuner it's a very good consumer HD Box.

I've bought a few cartons already too!

Cheers from a retired forum member.

It's most unusual and I was told it was a $$ driven decision, however, it works fine.
The audio is embedded via the DVI connector, so it's present on the HDMI connector.
In simple terms, it's HDMI from a DVI connector. All the cable does is a gender change.

The cable itself is good quality and there is also a good quality component cable included in the box too.

I've put one through it's paces and I'm very impressed with it's performance.

Two thumbs up from me.

There's none here to play with yet, so can my question be answered?

Does it come in black?

Is a 1.5m DVI - HDMI lead long enough?

How can I test that for you?

?

Simple. With output resolution set to 1280x720p or greater, is video concurrently available on either the CVBS or S Video output?

No it does not. And maybe thats a good thing! Less processor power needed. The box I have in service runs very cool too!

So what is the RRP on the Healing HHT893 ?

Have the sound bars lower left corner which was present on ch.10 with the 892 ......Has that been fixed ?? Funny thing about all this is, that i fronted the guys from Lacey`s and they denied the 892 had any of the glitches , So mine is in cash converters , i swapped it over for a LG LST5100P.....older machine but way better!!

Very fast channel change.

No annoying blue-ring power indicator.

Excellent PQ.

Sensitive & selective tuner (eg: works well with lower-end signal levels & good rejection of interference).

High quality HDMI & component cables included.

Certainly Healing's best unit so far.

Sooo....

How do I turn off auto-updating on this box?

Yes, I RTFM and no clues.

We have poor reception due to living in a hilly area. We have 2 antennas and an amplifier. We've tried various STB's such as Olin, Thompson, Kaon, Digi-crystal, Bauhn etc.

Some of them were so bad we'd get the 'no signal' message and the picture would stay almost constantly frozen. We have problems with fuzzy lines scrolling down the screen. I don't know what causes it, but the Healing is the only STB we've tried that isn't having these problems.

Our first Healing HHT893 arrived yesterday. We was unlucky, it was DOA. We got a replacement today.

So far we're amazed how clear the picture looks. The picture quality is amazing. There is no interference anywhere in the image. No lines. The picture looks much sharper and the colours are much more lively.

It found all the channels without manually programing them in. All the HD channels are working, and are very watchable and are keeping sync which is a first for us!

The signal strength is still weak. It does occasionally freeze for a millisecond but not very frequently. Channel 10 and ABC are usually unwatchable but they are working including their HD versions. It's brilliant. Our first antenna installer told us we'd never get channel 10. I'm very pleased to finally prove him wrong.

We set ours up today, and got it from http://australiandigitaltv.com/healing/HHT893Healing.htm and it was delivered the next day. We used it in a remote area, and like the above poster were told we could not get digital...but proved him wrong!

Excellent reception, excellent box.

Michelle and Emptor,
Interesting feedback on the Healing. I agree.

There are some related threads on the Healing performance here and here.

I am renting at Mt. Victoria and reception very poor could only get reception in main bedroom which is closest to antenna even then some channels dropped out with wind and or rain. got healing box today and now have all Sydney channels in family room, dont know if some channels will drop out in poor weather but very impressed. One interesting sidelight is I can get intermittent reception from WIN Orange presumably reflected from metal water tanks on top of one tree hill. this reception is interesting in that picture does not go blocky but freezes and then jumps and continues on and the sound mutes rather than pops and crackles when signal weakens. cheers alan

further to my last post some rain tonight at Mt. Victoria and STB still pulling in a stable picture and sound from Sydney, even more impressed with Healing performance. cheers alan

Alan,
Did you see and follow the links in my post (2 above)? There's another good example in there of the HHT893 performance.

Does the Healing have discrete IR Codes for Power On, Off?

I'll answer my own question. Apparently it is not possible, I've been told that's the way it is.

So the information on page 14 of the users manual regarding the deleting of channels will not occur.

(At least it hasn't for the HHT893's I've installed.)

Not with the supplied remote. The pre-amble is the same each time the standby button is pressed on the remote so it is a toggle function. Otherwise, I haven't bothered to load my Harmony remote with the code to see if it is possible.
foxx510
I'm returning one of these boxes as the auto update feature means you can't delete channels. Also, the remote on mine was quite directional, the powersupply was quite noisy too, both audibly and in RF, heaps of noise on the AM band. Pity, it could have been a good box otherwise, was nice and fast in the channel change.

Howdy,

Please refer to my post in 'Free STB for Pensioners' Thread for my initial thoughts on the new Healing -all positives so far.
