Those were the days, logging on each day to see the fights going on between the members here, i've never laughed so much. Man i hope another competing format comes out to stir up the best in everyone here.

"I can see a visual difference between blu-ray & HD-DVD"
"Sony are evil, Toshiba are the new world savior"
"More storage space means a better quality transfer"
lol

No loss.............

Just tune in to the PCM/Bitstream type discussions.

And this thread is a total waste of space and forum resources .

Actually see what is happening on the DCI front, same resolution as Blu Ray but 3 times the bit rate...and they are raving about the quality. Alan Gouger(AVS owner) is one of the principal people behind this. Distribution via encrypted hard drive......niche for sure but nevertheless interesting.

Requires a DCI capable display device as well of course.

Actually Blu-ray looks much better on a good USB drive than it does on disc........It's the higher bit rates available from USB that allow that greater edge of quality and that along with the minimal error correction needed ....... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Oh dear, another brandy I think.

No need to raise all those old hostilities - it was a moderator's nightmare!

I think we can bury this one. OK.
