Had a chance to listen to these today. Was very skeptical but was interested.

I must say I was blown away. Partly by the price but against my better judgement and the laws of physics, they sounded great. I listed to them bi-amped through a pair of Quad valve amps from an Arcam CD player and no subwoofer.

There was great extension and were very crisp and open sounding. Very surprised I was... They sit neatly inside the wall cavity against the inside of the plasterboard. When I put my hand against the plasterboard it was acting as the bass-board and there was quite a lot of movement so longevity of gyprocking remains to be seen. However with increasing demand for aesthetics these would make a fantastic 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre system for those who don't like the look of speakers dry.gif . They still don't equal a decent set of similarly priced floor standers but they outperformed every satellite system I've ever heard.

Of course, at over $2,000 a pair, not for us working stiffs. There are smaller models that drop to about 1/3 of this though...

If you have a look at the installation guide on their site - http://www.stealthacoustics.com/pages/install.htm - you can see that it sits in a cutout rather than behind the gyprock so it shouldn't be a problem.

Nice bit of tech.

Yeah, but that gyprock was really bouncing like a techno-club dancefloor.
