I just re-cabled my Antenna with RG6 cable, my dual tuner PVR has about 93% signal quality but my Panasonic HDTV when I rescaned the DVB channels can only see 3 SC-10 channels.
Note I'm in Rivett, Weston Creek and my Antenna is pointing at Black Mountain.

I'm confused why my PVR can see all channels but not my TV.

Can you clarify the cabling you have connecting the various devices?

Have you made up new leads? Does the antenna cable loop through one device than another? Is some part not working as it should?

etc.

I have a 4-way splitter which feeds PVR and TV.
I haven't yet replaced the leads from wall-plate , but I tested with same leads and still no joy..
I heard a mate who has similar problems further south, so I'm wondering if Ten is a stronger signal or there is something different about there DVB signal..

Trax,
Read Get the Best Reception, ACT and read the links.
Particularly the transmitter link.

the transmitter list indicates Mt Taylor has digtal channels, but the top says active are in bold, so how can I confirm if all stations are NOW available at the Mt Taylor transmitter.

I'll re-point antenna to Mt Taylor (from Black Mt) to check if its any better.

But I'm curious why only sc-ten is scanning from my current setup.

also they transmitter specifys channel numbers eg 68.. how do I map that to Frequency number
ie my tv only shows Mhz setting for tunning not channel #

I think you should slow down before you get all messed up. Don't repoint your antenna to Mt Tay, the channels are different to Blk Mtn and the antenna you have will not suit. Only ABC and SBS are currently transmitted from Mt Tay so it wont help.

If I understand correctly you have an antenna feed to a 4 way splitter then cables from the 4 way to each device, correct?

Check your connections and make sure you havn't got braid caught arround the centre conductor of the coax. What type of balun does the antenna have, sadle and screw or f type? Saddle and screw can be quite difficult to connect to quad RG6.

What type of 4 way splitter do you have, saddle and screw or f type, again see above.

Check all your connections, default reset the Panasonic and try a rescan again.

Was it all working before you changed the cable? If so something has gone wrong with your install.

The splitter is F-Type and I'm getting a good signal with the exact same cable on a DVB-T Tuner card in PC.
when I the HD- SC10 channel is receiving 100% signal quality and strength.
Is there anything different about SC10 to other channels?

Note Its a new HDTV so I haven't really seen any other channels other than Ten on it, but when I installed it a few weeks ago it did scan all channels but since I didn't have a coax for it it got no-signal for other channels like ABC.

I'm wondering if there is a bug in the TV which is causing it not to find the other channels

Thanks

There is nothing different about SC Ten, VHF 6 is the same transmission power as the rest.

Have you done a default/factory reset of the TV? You must remove all the old information stored in the set before rescaning.

Can you do a manual scan? After the default/factory reset of course.

I redone the F-type connector just to make sure that it was all good, and later tonight as we where re-housing the TV etc, I re-scanned and pop all stations are now found.

Thanks for the pointers.

I spoke too soon, I turned the TV on this morning and I get "No Signal", which sorta gets me.
as this was working perfectly last night ie I was getting 100% strength and 100% Quality on the indicators , but now I only see 10 (100%) for signal strength
but my PC DVB-T card is getting 93% ... even when I swap ant. coax cables just to prove its not the cable.

Thanks can't wait to find out what the heck is wrong with the TV or signal.. because I and a little confused why I can get HD 10 but not other channels.
My guess its the TV , is that likely?
I rang Panasonic help line but they just think its the signal / reception issue, so I need to prove this before I return TV.

Well the guys came out this morning (thanks) and said the reception was fine in the rear of the house (report should be coming your way).
So from this information the only conclusion is the TV is faulty, right?

I'll have to wait to I see the report, but if the guys are saying it's ok then it's ok. Next option is the TV or it's confiquration. We'll chat later.

No Worries, TV repairman came out today and couldn't get it working either, so he conclude it must be a faulty tuner and took it back to workshop to hopefully order new part.

thanks

Good Morning.

I've read the report, everything seems quite good to me, perhaps a tad too much signal which could be antenuanted by it really should be all ok. You do have some problems in the other room but my tech advised you of that and it's not related to your TV. Go the Panasonic repair man, hope he finds the problem.

I use the EPG on my Beyonwiz Unit... It is fairly well on the mark for what is on HD and is constantly updated. Win HD is only updated on Saturdays though.....

Try the EPG on your set top box or equivalent...

I have a question about digital EPG. I can get it for all channels, except SBS, which only ever has a couple of programs listed, if any at all. This is after I scroll through the channels so the Digital TV tuner picks it up. BTW: the Digital tuner is a TViX. My question is this: Does SBS put its programs on the EPG? I live in Hawker/Weetangara and the antenna is pointed at Black Mountain. Apologies if this is the wrong place to post.
