Hi All,

Inspired by Zoidbergs search for Stack mags, I was wondering if anyone had a spare copy of Pulse Issue 1 - the Sony Australia mag. Got every issue but. Would be happy to pay cash :-)

Cheers

You mean they're worth something! I turf mine as soon as the latest one arrives.
BenjaminG
Haha.

I don't think its that much of a secret that I work for Sony, and its great to be able to look back at the old catalogues if someone has a query that I cant remember.

Benjamin

I would have thought Pulse went back before 2000? I had some old copies and will look when i get home, could also be some at my parents place will check next time I am over that way.

BenjaminG
Hey mate, I would definitely appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure its from early 2000 as Issue Two is Winter 2000.

Hi Ben,
I am looking to compile a list of Sony video cameras released from 2006 until now and their corresponding battery parts.

I found this post because I was trying to find electronic versions of Pulse going back to 2006.

Would there be any chance you are able to compile a list for me from your pulse magazines. Obviously I would be happy to reimburse you for your time.

Let me know.

Thanks

Liam
BenjaminG
I'd give it a go. PM me with exactly what you want.

Just a few questions
Why was the high-end ES SACD player SCD-XA5400ES released in New Zealand and not here?
http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?s=&...t&p=1203271
And, will the Play-TV add-on DVB-T recorder for the PS3 be released here, and if so.. when?
cheers

No idea why, I'm guessing Sony Australia crunched the numbers and couldnt justify it. Strange I know, but happens sometimes.

Will be, no date set currently, waiting on Freeview to certify the device - there may be issues with some of the functions regarding fast forwarding (over ads etc)

thanks for the reply

Old info but i was told it also depended on simple stock numbers. If Sony Aust. has a large number of a similar model even if superceded they may miss a model or 2 in newer releases.

Anyone know if there is going to be any more Pulse magazines since the last widely available one of October 2008 (Issue 21)?

I know that Sony has decided not to continue mailing them out to save cash etc. but have they also decided to discontinue printing them altogether?

Sony is very sorry about this: sorry.sony-asia.com

Anyone know of anything being published in 2009--Issue 22?
BenjaminG
Yep, its been printed and distributed to stores. Its only designed as a tool for retailers and retailers have been instructed these are not to be given to consumers.

Well that sucks - especially for Sony, who've made tens of thousands of dollars off me alone via purchases made directly as a result of being able to "shop" via the Pulse catalogue.

Somebody remind Sony that customers like to be given the opportunity to browse.

tips... to fine a copy of these magazines of the year.. I notice the GOOD GUYS store has them laying around.. and thats how i end up stealing one and acted it as a catalogue smile.gif
BenjaminG
These are widely available at Sony Centre stores as give aways now. Must have done a reprint.
