Has anyone in the forum used this PVR ? I know this one can record to external USB hard drive which are pretty cheap to replace. How is this unit rated for picture quality, user friendliness and reliability ?

Strong STBs/PVRs seem to rate reasonably well, but not much chatter about them on these forums.
The 5440 looks really nice with it's VFD and glossy black finish. Pity if it's only a single tuner job though...For not much more dough (if you include the purchase of an external HDD), you could get a twin tuner PVR
