Hi, sorry if this has already been raised or is a bit stupid.

I have a Pana Dmr-Ex85. A few weeks ago a small digital on-screen clock appeared on the left bottom corner of the screen. It has never been on previously. The problem is that it is always showing even when you watch a DVD, which is quite annoying.

I have read the manual and fiddled around, but cannot find a way to get it off.

Does anyone know how to get it to stop showing? Anyone else have the same problem or noticed a similar thing? I am pretty sure I never activated it, it just showed up one day.

Nobody else notice this or have this problem? Nobody know how to get the clock off the display?

Thanks.

Sure it's the 85 and not the TV?

fair point, what type of tv do you have and are you running anything else through it eg set top box?

I have an 85 and the only clock that displays onscreen is part of the on-screen banner that appears when you change channels etc....
Plus, the clock displayed is not on the left side...

I suppose you could try a factory reset but I would also suggest this clock is coming from another source...

Does this clock disappear when you turn off the 85??
try Pulling the power from the wall..
remove any other components plugged into it...

Post a screen capture of it maybe???

Cheers

Sorry my mistake, clock is on the lower right hand side. It is definetly the pana ex85 doing it. When using the TV channels (Sony Bravia V series) there is no clock. The clock is only there when I use the pana for watching tv, recording tv or watching DVD's.

If I do a factory reset, will I lose whats on my HDD?

No you won't...

But if you are sure it's coming from the 85, have you contacted panasonic about it..
When you power on the unit, are you getting any error codes displayed on the 85
Is it still under warranty?

You never said if the clock disappears if u power off the unit...

heers

Sorry, yes clock goes off if I power off the unit. It is under extended warranty. I just assumed it was some upgrade they did and it happened to everyone with one.

And no I haven't rung Panasonic yet.

I take it you've got a Bravia. I had the same problem with mine when using the PVR(Beyowiz DP-P1) or Blu-ray(Sony BDS300). If so then it's your Bravia causing the problem. To get rid of it, press the top lefthand (i+ ?)button on your Bravia remote repeatedly and you will get rid of it. It's a cyclic thing, 3 presses to go thru the complete cycle. Took me days to work it out, not in the manual anywhere.

Yes I have a Bravia. Thanks Topdog you maybe right. I will give it a go tonight.

You were right Topdog. It was the Bravia on the input channels. Thanks for the advice. Clock now gone.

Glad to help, it was driving me round the bend for the same reason as you, couldn't figure out where it came from in the first place. It was just suddenly there...

cheers
