Hi Guys,

My Toppy 5000 MP mostly seems to work well. But some recording issues really have astounded me.

Recorded a 2 hour show and when I listed 'Recorded Services' I got -

",DVBT

45439540 MB (0min)
18/04/2008 19.03
131989 MB Free / 152625 MB"

45,439,540 MB = 45.5 Terabytes???? How can this be? Of course it wouldn't play.....

Another example is a 1/2 hour show I recorded AND watched later. A few days after I was presented with -

"Nine Digital Gold Coast, DVBT,
('Series premiere'),
0 MB ( 59Min )
09/04/2008 19:34
13724 MB Free / 15262 MB"

I had already watched this recording and now it's gone!!! Why would it disappear?

Also, I recorded a NRL game for my brother and went to copy it to my PC with Altair and got a 'Not Enough Space on Drive' message. When I looked closer the *.rec file was 264 Terabytes. No wonder it wouldn't copy - also wouldn't play.

Anyone had the same experiences and, if so, how did you deal with them. Or am I doing something wrong? Similar has happened on a coupla other occasions.
Any input would be appreciated. I'm starting to lose my love for Topfields.

Thanks,
Dr Dee

I can't say what caused these problems but I have used the Recording Fixer tap when I have had similar issues. Mine have happened when recordings were interrupted by a power outage.

From a quick search, it seems like your problems are related to those mentioned in this thread. I don't know if there was a resolution to the problem but there were suggestions of disabling timeshift and firmware upgrades.

FWIW I think you would get more responses if you checked in at the topfield board.
pgdownload
If it read 0Mb then its not there. As mentioned a FW upgrade should sort the problem. Visit the topfield forums for info/advice
