does anyone notice sometimes at night they show a replay of the WIN local news from Wollongong instead of Canberra? I had no idea what the stories were about.

Victoria is still 4:3 as WIN (Ballarat) still use 4:3 studio cameras.

They have nice new Sony XD CAM digital cameras for field use, but then convert back to analogue for adding cg's (titles etc) then convert back to digital for transmission.

It's no wonder the end result doesn't look much better than VHS at times.

WIN makes me laugh. They don't seem to give a stuff. Though it is sad for us viewers.

WIN is a bit of a joke all round. How precisely WIN manages to turn clean video into this sort of mess is beyond me, given that WIN's SD is ~7Mbit/sec. At 7 Mbit/sec it should be squeaky clean!
