Thought I'd ask how many others out there are stil using the original Thomson STB. We still use it daily (in combination with a wintal single tuner pvr to allow us to watch one channel and record another) as our primary STB. It has been 5+ years now since we got it and it still runs like new.

Trying to do some work with the test on in the background, when I wondered just how old the STB was. Its a Thomson DT1352TH and has been in almost daily use since new, Still going strong.

Had a look at the back to get the model number and was surprised to see "Made in France", apart from some bubbles in the cellar it must be about the only French made product on this establishment!

From memory I paid way over 300 big ones for this thing, but given its ongoing service, and our early entry to DTV it has certainly been worthwhile.

This box has gone from being the main source of DTV reception through the master bedroom to the son's bedroom to the office, where it is probably doing better work than the writer (or the Aussie cricket team for that matter).
