I'm sure this has probably been discussed before, but I cant find anything..

I have watched the tv for about 200 hours, so now I would like to change the settings to get the best picture possible.

Does anyone know what the ideal settings would be for these things?:

1. Foxtel IQ - scart to component
2. Xbox 360 - component
3. DVD player - HDMI (I am currently getting tiny green dots radiating all over the screen)

Also, should the "Dynamic Contrast' setting ever be used? Should anything be changed in "advanced settings"?

I've got a couple of settings which Ive use DVD Essentials and a THX DVD (eg Star Wars) to set. Personally found them similar to my settings any way. I found setting Contrast using those DVDs unhelpful.

Contrast 68-70
Brightness 44-48
Colour 48-52
Colour temp- Cool2
DNie - off
DNR-off
No changes in the advance settings.

I also sometimes use a "normal" colour temp then go into the advance setting and turn down the pink a little in the colour setting and the red alittle in the white balance menu. I find the reds are a little too prominant for my taste. I normal turn the Dynamic contrast off but I have played around with it "on" for a long time but in the end found it better "off".

These are my personal settings based on basic calibration DVDs and eyeballing. The picture isn't as good as my old Sony CRT (59cm) but hey it's more that 1/3 the size so I'm not complaining.

Good you made this thread hope it gains momentum!

Ive been playing around with settings for a while but still havent come to my "perfect" settings.

So i would be happy to experiment with everyones settings and post my own once i fiddle with it a bit more.

Have revised my settings in Movie mode
Contrast-65
Brightness-44
Sharpness-60
Colour-46
Colour Tone-Normal
Then go to Detail Settings
Black Adjust-Low
Dynamic Contrast-Low
Gamma-0
Colour Space-Wide
In White Balance
-R Offset-12
-R Gain-12
In My Colour Control
-Pink-10
I'm sticking with this at the moment as it seems to give a pretty well balanced picture compared with my CRT.
