Trying to get my mates Harmony 1000 to connect to computer.

Changed cable
Tried different USB slot
Removed battery and reinserted after 10 seconds
Restarted computer
Tried restarts with cable plugged in and without
Tried restarts with battery in and out

Plug cable in and little plug image right of help then shows but does not change window just activities there and will not update.

any ideas how to get it to update?.

Foxy, need to make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the harmony software (v7.3 I think) for best results with the Harmony 1000

Did that still will not talk to Harmony. Don't know why the little plug shows next to Help button when I plug it in, but nothing happens

Foxy,

Just been thru this process with my new toy and it was quite intuitive. Sounds to me as tho your mates 1000 may have p00ped itself. I assume it is a 1000i?
Rob.

Hi foxtail

I would give tech support a phone call. They will talk you through a few different things to try.

You use a mac, right? My brother in law had a few issues getting his Harmony to talk to his mac at one stage. He eventually figured it out himself, but I don't know what he did...my mac causes me nothing but grief, so I do all important stuff on my PC and try not to "experiment" with things on the mac. Tech support should know all the tricks and traps though.

Did you guys resolved your connection problems.

Reason I ask is that I am having no end of problems seding data to mine.

What worked well last time I ran it will not load at all at the moment.

I too have had this problem. You may have already tried this, but to fix mine i pressed a few hard buttons - activities, vol up/down etc and it would suddenly wake up the connection. You've probably called Logitech by now anyway - Good luck.

No I am still striking out. Yes I called but they have not come back with a solution.
So I took the software disk and remote to work, installed it and the update went fine.
The implication being that there is something blocking the transmission on the home computer, but I cannot work out what.
Firewalls are off, All virus protection has been uninstalled etc, Popups are not blocked. I've run out of ideas on what to try next.
