Sorry I'm knew to all this HD TV thing.

If an LCD set has integrated HD TV, does it automatically pick up the HD tuner when i boot it up and search for channels?

Or do I need some special hardware or cables etc???

Thanks.

Depends if integrated HD TV means it just scales images to the native res or if it has a built in tunercard

if it's a built in tuner you will just need to connect it to an antenna if it's just a HD capable tv though then you will need a HD digital tuner to get HD digital tv on the tv .

Look in the manual that comes with the tv or with the promotional info and see which it is , once you know that we will know exactly what your talkign abotu when you say intergrated HD TV

Uh? the new Full HD Samsung F81 46" ????????
diesel
Connect it just like you old TV and as long as;
1. you are in a DTV reception area (ie capital city)
2. your antenna isn't too old
you should have no problems tuning into HD channels. I believe though with the Samsung you need to hit the DTV button on the remote as it defaults to analogue reception out of the box.

As for HD Ready requiring a HD STB, not quite right. I (along with many many others) have HD ready tvs with inbuilt HD tuner so no separate HD STB required.

I too have the F81 46" (which is a Full HD 1080p LCD Tv with HD Tuner) and if you followed the instructions on installation by running the plug in play function and you are able to receive the HD signal then you should be ready to go...

2HD is on 20
SBS HD is on 30
7HD is on 70
9HD is on 90
10HD is on 1

Let us know how you go.

Thanks guys, I haven't taken delivery of the set yet.

I live in the inner-Melbourne suburbs (very close to Richmond where Channel 10 and 9 have studios)...so surely i can get HD right?
