Hi,

Am in the market to buy a 40-42" LCD for gaming (X360) and watching lots of DVDs.

Would like ot get get thoughts and prices on the above models. Am happy to pay anything up to $3500.

Is it still worth looking at the Samsung models even though they are experiencing lots of issues (see http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showtop...t&p=883493)

Any help would be great....

Am currently leaning towards the Sony.

Cheers

Hi Xanataus,

I am one of those who have issues with the Samsung LA 40 F81 BDX and I also use the xbox 360. Go for it I say. From what I have read here in this great Forum, there are lots of people who have or have had problems with many types of TV's.

Even with my problems, I really like my 40in and the Xbox 360 looks bloody fantastic, much better than the old Sharp 68cm that I was using.

Cheers

John

PS: There will be a fix and there are many who do not have any problems at all.

me, sammy all the way, we have the M8, daughter has the R8. the 3 year warranty might sway you, but in the end, they are both good brands, and both are running bonus's atm.

i'm no techie guru, but I heard that Samsung actually make the screens for Sony. Sony then add their own components and their badging.

the Samsung LA40F81BDX is what I ordered, the one in the showroon was the M series, and that looked amazing - great contrast, great colours, so the F series with the 100Hz and higher contrast ratio should be great!
