I "upgraded" the firmware on my Supernet 2160T from the Digenius site with disastrous results! The so called upgrade was actually a downgrade and rendered the device inoperable.
The existing firmware version on my 2160T WAS 2006/6/15 and the upgrade on the Digenius site is 2005/6/07 !!!
I managed to restore the tuner function using firmware I found here:
http://users.bigpond.net.au/pcpro/Digenius...%20firmware.zipbut the hard drive (160GB) does not work as this firmware version does not support HDD greater than 80GB.
If anyone out there has a recent version or at the very least my original version of the firmware I'd love to get a copy.
I have the 160GB model but not sure how to determine the firmware (it is a menu function)? Happy to ISO the drive (has nothing on it yet, never been used except to see if starts up with the new HDD cables (accessible outside the unit) which I have attached...
Ideally I want to access this drive directly and image it before I start using it as I plan to attach a USB cable to it and be able to load movies and stuff straight to the HDD. It is not much use to me "as is" as I bought it not realising it does not work with Foxtel so I can only record low quality to it - may as well get some real use out of it by converting it to be able to load content direct to the drive and then play this through the TV.
If anyone has already done this and is willing to share please let me know...
I already have the part required to convert any STD 3.5 " drive to USB from Hong Kong and the IDE connectors are standard inside the unit. Unfortunately the disk format is not standard as when connected to my iMac asked if I wanted to initialise the drive... I will try this on Windows, but if anyone knows the way to read and write this format via a utility please let me know.
Thanks in advance.
