Hello all,

I am currently experiencing an issue with the PrimeHD audio - every 10-15 seconds it cuts out for a fraction. My amps display indicates that it has lost the bitstream for that fraction. The picture remains stable the whole time. I have absolutely no issues with any other channel (SD Prime included).

I'm using a Beyonwiz P1, Yamaha 1800 amp into a Pioneer LX508.

Anyone else having issues with Prime?

Just watching some Desperate Housewives. Sound seems perfectly OK.

Frequently, but not tonight. Often entirely unwatchable. No idea why only some times.

I get pixellation plus sound problems. Using Toppy. Don't get any regular problems on any other stations.

Using the Tuggeranong transmitter. It uses channel 68, which is near the top of frequency range I think. Wonder if that is why they have the worst trouble.

Would be good to know whether Mount Taylor also has the same problems (its also 68). Maybe its just poor transmission from Tuggeranong Hill.

I wonder if Prime knows or cares! How would you tell them?

I think that DTV seems to be a Beta product. Maybe they will get it right by 2010 when they say the official switch off will start.

Might drive up sales of Foxtel ;-)

I've been having the EXACT same issue with 10HD in Melbourne, it started about 2 weeks ago (first noticed it in the Australian Idol Finale) and it's driving me NUTZ mad.gif
Doesn't happen with the other stations HD or SD

cheers

An update - It appears that my Beyonwiz P1 has an issue passing through the bitstream for PrimeHD. If I set the box to decode the audio before passing onto the amp the audio doesn't drop out (well in the limited testing I have done it hasn't). Will post again after I have found something to watch for an extended period on Prime...

I also am using a Beyonwiz DP-P1 and Yamaha RX-V1800 receiver (is that the same model as yours?). No audio dropouts on Prime HD with audio set to 'Passthrough' and output via HDMI.

I'm on the Tuggeranong retransmitter. Try retuning the Beyonwiz in case something has changed in the broadcast standards. Make sure you have the latest firmware installed. If this doesn't work, then a new firmware (I'm using a late Beta of the next firmware) should be out very soon. Check at the Beyonwiz forum (http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/phpbb2/index.php) from time to time.
