I'm considering get a twin HD tuner PVR, just wondering which ones work with the free EPG that started recently so I don't need to subscribe to IceTV.

If you could reply with the brand and model that has been working for you, greatly appreciated.

Just about every PVR/STB will work with the broadcast EPG. A very few seem to have been limited to only showing the Now & Next. If a PVR works with ICETV then it will also work with the broadcast EPG. So I'd just look for a PVR based on other criteria and a quick check of the box/manual/here should confirm its can display the broadcast EPG.

Note that its very early days in the broadcast EPG world. Both broadcaster and firmwares are possibly having teething issues. So it may take a little while for things to setle down reliably across the board.

All digital receivers including PVR's are designed to display EPG. The questions should be: "Which box can actually do anything with it"

On the Mediastars you simply highlight the program from the EPG list, Press record and all the recording parameters will be automatically entered as a task into the timer schedules. By pressing record twice allows you to edit the entry, Time padding, renaming, daily, weekly etc...

The entry will display the program name date/time, channel name and a 24 hour bar with a time marker.
