Hi everyone,

Could Toppy TF7000HDPVRT owners give some feedback as to what their unit is now like after the latest firmware update?

Has this firmware ironed out most of the bugs, or is it still having major dramas?

Worth buying, or avoid still?

Cheers

I'm holding my breath.
So far it's a stable as a rock (touch wood).
Have not had a problem with ANYTHING since the last f/w update.
Also if you look at the Toppy forum site, almost all you see is wishlists.
Good sign.

Thats awesome news Lyle, hope it stays that way.

I'm trying to decide whether to update my Toppy 5000 to one or not.

Will have a look at the Topfields site forums now.

Thanks

Really? Because I'm still reading posts about missed recordings on a frequent basis. It may be better than it was, but rock-solid it still aint....... wacko.gif

Only one guy and he may or may not have followed the update procedure correctly.
Anyway I don't mean to sound like I'm defending Toppy but before the f/w release there were dozens of complaints.
I don't see many now. Alll I can say is mine 'seems' stable at the mo. A lot better than it was.

I had a heap of problems with the old firmware, but also have not had one hicc-up since installing the new firmware! Its only been about 5 days now, but so far so good!

I'm impressed enough to assume should any more little problems come along, the Topfield team should be able to sort it out!

I'm still on the APR/07 firmware. I upgraded to this the first day I bought the device. My TF7000PVRt has not failed me yet in relation to programmed recordings (most important) (erk, I'm about to go watching something). I'm still a little hesitant to move to the the latest f/w, but it sounds very promising. It's always nice to have the latest f/w, but at the moment I'm working with the theory if it ain't broken, don't fix.

The slow reaction time of the remote is annoying my wife like hell though. smile.gif

The slow reaction time is a known issue with the firmware you're on. It gets progressively worse over time but can be brought back to OK with a Factory reset, but it then gets worse over time again.

If you are not having any significant issues I would definitely recommend the newer release firmware.
