Morning all,
Please note the highly anticipated FW update for the Toppy 7000 PVR has now been put online for download (July 10 - v0.70.09)

I haven't loaded it onto the machine yet, so I'm not sure what has been fixed and what issues are still outstanding....though I'm sure if you visit the Toppy forum today there will be much discussion over the coming days.......

I loaded mine last night.
Interface does not look a lot different.
I assume most of the changes are stability related (hopefully).
Time will tell.
I've set up some time recordings like before to test it.

Some things added are no doubt in the editing etc.

Is there a new manual anywhere that one can get hold of to learn any new functionality?

Topfield just posted the revised manual.

The interface won't have altered all that much and yes stability and general usability has been a heavy focus. In particular efforts have gone into getting the external harddrive functionality up and running, the favourites lists working properly, the ICE EPG, using the TimeShift buffer and recording reliability.

I believe some rudimentary editing functions are available but they'll need more work. At the moment if you edit a file (say top and tail) then the file is copied and the bits you 'cut out' are just blanked out. That is nothing is removed from either file, the playback just skips past the edited bits.

I would stay tuned for the next FW to maybe see a few neat additions (hopefully).

But here's hoping that this released FW is a sufficient reliability boost to keep owners happy.

Regards
