The Reason WhyThat's very bad form kamma (on steve's part, not yours).
I actually PM'd caniffe to ask if it was acceptable to include a negative feedback aspect to the thread, but he never responded

So at the moment I'm sticking to my original plan, playing it safe, and sticking to positive feedback.

i still like the idea of a trading points rating system that some forums have but not sure if this forum allows it

we've asked for this before, but the answer was no, which was why I created this thread.

All I'll say on this subject is that another well respected member recently PM'd me that he had some rather questionably dealings with SKG in the past and that as a consequence he would never deal with Steve again. This was over a fairly large financial transaction back in July. If I had known about this through a post on the Good Trader's thread I probably would've thought twice about handing over my money to Steve.
So I maintain my favour for a name and shame policy. It was me and a few other others who got burned on this occasion but there is no reason why it couldn't be the reader of this post next time round. And although it was only $50 I'm out of pocket and I'm not that cut up about it, it may be a $500 or $1,000 transaction next time around.
As I said before if you've got nothing to hide then you shouldn't have a problem with this concept. The accused will of course have their right of reply to defend their rep if necessary. As I mentioned before I wouldn't expect there to be a flood of negative feedback and claims of wrongdoing as 99.9% of members here do the right thing. And I don't see SKG or the organiser of the Onkyo GB frantically posting that they've had their reputations wrongfully besmirched.
It's just a shame there are a few bad eggs out there and they appear to have more rights than their potential/actual victims. Though I guess that is just a reflection of society and the legal system we have.
Felix.

And whilst I'm here I'll add Gino as another terrific member to deal with. Was quite understanding when I stuffed up my payment. And that was genuine mistake...honest!

I can vouch for the fact (as can a certain ssingleton) that going to the police with contact details and
detailed evidence can have good results.

I wish I knew. My previous discs sales to SKG were many months back and have since deleted the associated PMs a long time ago. I remember he wanted the discs mailed to a bird, presumably his partner, in Rouse Hill NSW iirc. I don't think he ever gave me his surname. I checked my bank records and all his direct deposits were marked SKG Productions. That's as about as much as I can contribute sorry.
Good luck with it though, however my feeling is that the horse has bolted on this one and that prevention is always far better than cure. But where there's life there's always hope I suppose.

Thanks Mo...I guess.
Sounds like Steve may have a few larger problems than some DTV boys on his @rse!
Actually I probably should be more indignant than I actually am. But to be honest it's pretty low on the aggravation meter for me personally. It's more the dissapointment of having to wait at least another three weeks to see Scarlett and The Island in HD, although I have a feeling this one will actually turn up this time.
Also I think I heard SKG may have moved house so that's why I'm pessimistic about a happy ending in this particular case. Of course I hope I'm wrong for everone's sake. Maybe someone does know something that help can track this renegade down, but I'm not holding my breath.

seeing as we paid our money into a company account could we not assume that when dealing with steve we were actually dealing with a representative from skg production and then go to the police with a company name?

Excellent trade with D.G. - highly recommended - I bought a HD-A1 from him and the player was well packaged and he helped with a couple of problems I had with the setup. This is a great unit a little quirky but a great first generation machine, I'm very happy with it!

btw, just saw all these posts about SKG! I bought a PS3 from him awhile ago, paid him very quickly as he seemed to have a good reputation here. After that, he wasn't replying to my pms until he realized I was very annoyed...he did post it in the end (but he did not send me a few things he had promised - Casino Royale, downloaded games, some cables, etc). I pmed him asking about them but he never got back to me & I just let it go as I was relieved to have at at least received the PS3 (which I love btw)!!
