HI Yes I am a new member, but have spent quite some time searching your forum.
I have recently purchased a JVC DR-MH300S HDD/DVD Recorder with 160Gb. It comes with analogue tuner, but in my area channel 10 is only available via digital. So have hooked my Wintal PVR X10 up to send digital signals to the JVC HDD/DVD Recorder. However whenever I go to view TV channles or record TV channels that have come via my SD STB/PVR I get the following messages "Copy Prohibited Can Not View" or Copy Prohibited Can Not Record". I have the same problme when I try to copy/record on the HDD/DVD recorder a program from the hard disk on the wintal PVR. This is not a problem with TV that comes via the analogue tuner built into the HDD/DVD Recorder. It seems like there is something in the way that the Wintal unit sends out its signal that messes with the HDD/DVD Recorder and hence I get flashed across the screen the messages outlined above about every minute. I do not think it is macrovision as the picture does not get messed up I just get the message and lose picture for about 10 - 15 seconds. This is very frustrating.

Does anyone have a similar problem and does any one know of a fix.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I think I have read around these parts of some others experiencing problems but this has been rectified by Firmware updates (eg Toppy 7000 STB). Not sure about the Wintal box though

Hi Thanks, after further investigation I found a thread on the hidden settings for Wintal pvr and inside these hidden settings it is possible to turn off the WSS signal. Doing this fixes all my problems.

Now I am a happy man!!!!!

Klurpa, kudos to you. Most here expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter, without putting any effort into looking for what has already been posted.
That then leads to madent and the peanut gallery with posts like "why don't you just help the guy, blah blah blah."

You can give a man food for one meal, and that is all he has.
Give a man the tools to feed himself and encourage him to use those tools.
Same can be applied to discussion forums.

Excellent, and glad to hear that.
Put the effort in, and ye shall be rewarded.
