Hi all,

I have in my possesion an LG DBRH197 Recorder, with a news recording stored on the hard drive, of which I would like to copy onto a DVD+RW

I consulted the owner manual and followed the 'dubbing' process as it told me, however when I try to select dubbing on the clip a message: "Please change the Recordable Disk" comes up.

These disks are brand new. I have tried multiple disks (Types and manufacturers) however I cannot access the dubbing menu, and still get the above message.

Does anyone know what the issue is here? Is there something I am not doing?

I have searched for dubbing issues, but could not find any help.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hiya,
I've just bought a 197 myself. I've only had it a week and I haven't actually tried to burn to disc yet, so I can't comment. Hopefully you will have a solution by now and I won't have to worry.
I've always been a bit of an optimist.
If the problem still exists, try posting on a more active thread relating to LG RH1888's because there are some wizards in there and they also mention the -197.
A few things you might check - Is the HDD source file protected? Have you edited the HDD file? if so you won't be able to use the fst dubbing option - it only works with virgin HDD files.
Hope you get a result

That's typically some type of loader problem, the discussion about this issue can be found on the LG-series thread, Lg Rh1777/1888/1999. I've sent my unit to LG nearly 3 weeks ago and waiting for any response, but I made a foolhardy on that one too blush.gif classic statement by FERNSEHTECHNIKER

Hi There
I thought I would bring up a new discussion.
I own the DBRH197 model.
I recently purchased " Lost" dvd series on DVD.
When I go to play this, I get an error stating : Unknown Disc. and the recorder will not recognize it and opens the tray again.

I am confused as to why I am getting this. Considering the movie is Genuine and I don't want to record it, only playback

Your feedback would be fantastic.

I have had the same message come up with quite a few of my discs as well, but found that by formatting the DVD disc for video they then work as expected. The format menu item is in the setup menu not the dubbing menu which doesn't help. Also on my spindle pack of TDK discs I have found that about 1 in 5 discs don't need to be formatted first but all the others do.

The process is simple but a bit long winded!
Go to DVD, and insert blank disc. You'll get a message asking if you want to format it (yes). Once that is done, switch to HDD and then go through the burn process. A note: if you are using Re-writable discs, then once you've burned they'll be playable on any machine. If you're using single-write disc, you have to 'finish' the disc off or it won't play on any other machines!

Same problem here. If I get movies from the video store, they are 'not recognised' whereas dvd's that I buy from the shops (region 4) are ok. Anyone know why this might be happening?
