Can anyone who has replaced the Ausid STB with a DP-S1, and with a Fuj 50" US model, comment on the PQ please. Is it at least the same? I've become spoilt and don't want it to degrade if I go with the Beyondwiz unit - which is looking like a serious scenario for me at present to finally update to PVR and NMP functionality.

I would also be looking at running it through my Denon 3805 AVR, i.e. rather than direct to the panel - any comments/advice on that too?

I' ve seen it on a friend's 42" fuji both .... there isn't much in it at all ... you'll be happy with the PVR functionality and PQ - the PQ needs tweeking a little out of the box... but its all good...

I've got mine on a 50" screen - back to back comparissons with the toppy 7000 HD ... no visible difference at all (after a few tweeks) ...

Hi Jeff, whilst I only have the 42" Fuji, the PQ of the AUSID is definitely better, particularly with poor quality content. Having said that however, I'm happy to forsake a little drop in PQ for the myriad of features that the BW has to offer.

If you were going to run the BW through the 3805 for video as well as audio, then you might notice a further degradation in PQ as the component output of the BW isn't quite as good as the HDMI output.

Many thanks bigmarcelo and Foggy. We ended up picking one up today (HN Gold Coast $1300 + $100 deal - they now have this in their national compuer system as a price match). But its for my birthday, so I won't get to play with it until next weekend.

At present, I have my 3910 DVD player hooked up to the panel's only HDMI input. To gain max PQ, do you think I should get a HDMI splitter and run that unit and the BW direct to the panel? I wonder then if the BW, if in this config, can simultaneously also send audio to the 3805 AVR through the 5.1 cables?
Foggy
I'd give the 3910 a go using the component connection before spending money on a HDMI switch Jeff. Something as well built as the Denon should put out the same sort of PQ from its component as it does via its HDMI.

If you do see a noticeable difference, and want to keep the 3910 on the HDMI, then do a quick search on here for the HDFury box, in particular the model that goes from HDMI to D-Sub15. This would allow you to use your RGB input into the Fuji and keep the HDMI input for the Denon.

Given that this unit converts the HDMI digital signal to a RGBHV analogue signal, save your money and just use the Component output.
(assuming you have a spare input)

There is effectively no difference between a RGBHV(VGA) signal and a Component signal.......
