When my BeyonWiz hard drive failed within days of purchase, I expected to get stuffed around trying to get it fixed or repaired.

And I publicly said so in this forum.

So it's only fair that I give Harvey Norman Aspley a huge thumbs-up for getting me a new-in-box replacement BeyonWiz within just 24 hours.

Great customer service! It wasn't their fault the HDD failed. But they took responsibility and delivered excellent service on a product which they don't usually even carry in stock.

So it's nice to be able to pay a public compliment about a consumer electronics supplier, for once biggrin.gif

I've noticed Harvey Norman picking up their game too (only the HT section) There is on at Baulkham Hills (Norwest) and the guy there Scott is great (and knows his stuff) Got me to buy a Topfield HD box over the Sony (glad I did) and a 40" Samsung 1080p panel.

I hope they keep up the good work.

Good to hear, and you will probably go back there to purchase more things in the future.
Most people only consider purchase cost, but there is a lot more to overall satisfaction, and excellent customer service like that is a deal clincher.

I was in Harvey Norman Oxley last week pricing a Pana EX75, standing around for minutes with a deliberately obvious "please serve me" look.
It wasn't until the Manager happen to walk through the area and ask if I was taken care of.
"No, not yet."
Only then, after a stern look from the Mgr, did one of the two nearby salespeople who were busy goofing around bother to come over.

Customers are such an inconvenience at times!

They've Harvey Norman Loganholme) replaced my Toppy 4400, twice! The first time the hard drive was squeaking (internal friction?), today I got up to find that a show from yesterday afternoon was still recording, played it back and got a sample of every show on 10 from 1530 until 0600 today, just a couple of minutes from each. They plugged it in, took a look and replaced it immediately. It also failed to record a swathe of programs on Sunday and Monday, I thought I had made an error but it was obviously the PVR at fault.
A huge contrast to LG and David Jones with whom I've been fighting over a faulty LG TV for three years.
