If SBS is transmitting 480x576, why the hell cant they transmit 720x576 when sending 4:3 content!?!? From this forum I was lead to believe that there was some sort of legislative requirement in the Clayton's DTV rules that meant they had to do 4:3 within 16:9 (ie reduced res to 540 pixels) rather than simply sending 4:3 as real (720 wide) 4:3. So how can they get away with 480?!?

Is the rule "If its 4:3 you have to transmit it as 540
or lower resolution!?!?"
Bastards, the lot of them!
PS: I assume that since this is low importance content (LIC), they decided to use as little bandwidth as possible? 480x576 and about 16 colours.
