Hi,

Lost this the first time ........ I think?

Sorry for the newbie comments and questions but ya gotta learn somehow.

Are all terrestrial antenna wall sockets the same? Are they all coaxial cables from the antenna itself, delivering an RF (radio frequency) signal via the wall plug and then via another chunk of coaxial cable to your TV, Video, Set Top Box, PVR etc?

Are there better ways to connect to the data collected by your terrestrial antenna than via a couple of coaxial cables delivering an RF signal through a low tech push-in / pull-out wall socket?

When I understand this I may have more dumb questions about PQ (picture quality) and other inter device connectivity involved in the Digital Picture & Sound broadcaster to viewer delivery chain.

If your just using standard coax and connections from back when it was analogue then you can upgrade the system to get more signal strength to your TV, STB, VCR, etc. E.g. you can upgrade the coaxial cable (all of it) to RG6 Quadshield Coaxial Cable (less interference can get in and less signal can get out, except the ends of course) and on the ends use F-connectors that get pushed onto the end not twisted on, update your splitter to have F-connections, update your wall plugs so that the inside wall side is F-connector, but visable side still PAL, and upgrade your antennas to ones with F-Connections.

Definitely use the F-connector wall sockets. I had changed a run of coax & an antenna before I realised I was loosing 30% of signal across the crappy clipsal/hpm wall socket.
