unfortunately at the moment the networks only give now and next information instead of a full epg. if you have a read through these forums you'll see its a big issue with most of us.

Hi Kidwizz, can you give me a review of the 2160T. I thinking of getting one and can't find any good information on it.

It's touted as a Twin Tuner, can it really record two channels simultaneously?
Do you know the link for the manufacturers website?

thanks for any info.

cheers

I just brought one on ebay and I will post the results of the installtion and any issues as soon as I get it.

I should have read more reviews as there does seem to be better brands available, although I have read good and bad reports and all I can find is that Supernet are similar if not the same as diginet.

I have found the following sites that also sell them

www.rapserv.com.au/

I also found a web site for a shop in Oakleigh, melb, vic that sells them www.newcomputers.com.au.

I bought one of these a week ago - previously we had a 2nd hand cash converter job, and it worked perfectly - now we buy a brand spakin new one and we can't pick up any channels but 7 and 9???

We have bought a new antenna cable, w have played around with the antenna on the roof, moving it in every which direction, and I can't figure out how the old one can pick everything up but the new one can't?

Any suggestions before we take it back to the store? Thanks heaps.

There have been many threads on similiar problems.

I would advise using the "Search" function at the top of the page to help find the solution to your issues.

OK Irecieved my 2160T today and was setup in under 5 mins. I got reception on all channels except SBS but I can't get that on my HD PC card so I knew I was up for a new antenna or move it. (It is a late model but is inside the roof wh9ich is where it was when we brought the house).

I have recorded and attempted time shift but I do adsmit the manual lacks a lot of detail but I am sure I can work this part out.

I have to say that although I have read some disturbing posts on this PVR I am extremely happy taking into account what I paid and it does all that it says including watching one channel while recordong another.

I swapped ours for another one at the store where we bought it - it now picks up all channels but SBS also... however our old box DOES pick it up. We are not too worried however, not really our favourite channel. We can set the old one up in the bedroom and watch it from there.

Another issue though - the tv scrambles when trying to record.

This machine has serious issues. So not happy!

I too am having problems with mine recording. When i try to record it mixes the channel i am watching and the channel i am trying to record. Can anyone help me with this.... Need to no soon whether i have to send it back or not..........
Thanks

I rang HiFu - the company who makes them... they apparently han't heard of it doing this.
However - their suggestion to me was "get a refund"... so I swapped the set top box with hard drive for a regular STB and a DVD recorder with hard drive (NEC brand). It's been working perfectly, but unfortunately not able to twin tune like the STB. I can live with that - I have a spare TV and STB in the bedroom anyway.

My suggestion... return your STB for a different one before you can't.

Hi I have also just bought one of these but as the manual does not tell you how to record one program and watch another at the same time I have been unable to work out how to do this. Do you think you could provide me with some instructions on how to record one program and then watch another at the same time. I am usually very technically minded but I just can't seem to work it out.

HI, I just got mine off ebay yesterday... it was pretty simple... while recording in PVR mode, just his Exit a couple of times, then you can change the channel just as normal...

You can aslo playback previous recodings while currently recording a program - this includes playback of the current recording (time-shift)

I'm yet to test if i can record 2 shows at once on 2 different channels.. will test it out tonight after work! hehe I can't see why not, given that you can record and play at the same time, why not record and record? Will see! smile.gif

Ok, it doesnt record 2 shows at once, was worth a try.. but does playback & time-shift while recording another channel... haven't had any problems so far!

It has a limit of only 12 timer recordings which might be a bit annoying if you want to record a few half-hour shows and 1hr shows thats follow each other, probably easiest to just have 1 timer to record the whole time block on a channel.. You can split the recordings later, which works really fast too! smile.gif

Hi,
the manual is very basic but this supernet 2160T twin tuner pvr has a lot of features which are not in the manual. If you record say 3 hrs on the same channel without specifying the programs, when you play back press LIST button and you will find it has index marks every hour plus the names of the programs,so just scroll up or down and press OK and it will play from that point on.For quick TIMER recording while watching a channel(not pvr mode) press INFO than LIST,you can change time, channel, time date or start recording the channel you are on by pressing exit than save.
I found that only ABC Sydney has a full day list by pressing INFO twice, has anyone found how to list the programs on the other channels?
Cheers

I've just purchased a 2160T and am extremely happy with it. For $270 including postage (on eBay) it's a real bargain. I've seen it go for about $30 cheaper too.

Regarding the two tuners, one is dedicated to viewing and one to recording, so you can't record two channels at once. You can record one channel and watch another though (or use timeslip). Timeslip is fantasic. It's easy to use and works a treat.

I've come from a STB (no PVR) and a VCR so am finding the features and picture quality excellent.

Hi

BEWARE SUPERNET BUYERS!

I recently bought a Supernet 160GB PVR from OzAb on the internet and phew- what a litany of problems....

Delivery was quick and I eagerly unplugged my old 80gb version and plugged in the new one and it seemed to work OK for about 20 minutes- then the front display gets garbled, and machine crashes- only rectifyable by unpluging it. Did this multiple times and reset the unit several times but same thing happens.

The only way to contact OzAB was via email and it took a few days. They advised returning it for warranty service but OzAucton Brokers claim it is NOT defective. WHAT THE !!!

Now they want $13.20 postage to return it to me !

I demanded full refund as per their eBay ad listing- but they claim it is now over 30 days and want a 20% restocking fee.

Currently in a major dispute with them ..... BEWARE!! Supernets are great if they work but if they don;t , then don't expect any sensible warranty service from them !

Hi, I have an older version of the Diginet STB it is DVB-T168. for years I could pick up all the available channels in my area (I live in Daylesford VIC and pick up my signal from Bendigo). Then all of a sudden I could only pick up Channelk 10 I did the auto tune and still only one channel. There is no website or address or phone number written on the manual, even though it says you can get it updated via computer. Can anyone help me?
