Hi
I've just purchased a Soniq QMR300 DVD recorder from JB HiFI for $148.00.

The problem I'm having is that 2 areas in the Setup menu, Playback and Channelscan, are NOT accessible.

I need to access Playback Setup to modify Tv Aspect Ratio ... on my widescreen TV all 16:9 movies are being shown horizontally distorted (squashed)

Has anyone else got this DVD recorder and experienced the same problem?

Hi Green,

Yes, I have the same problem and did not find a solution yet. See my post above. I'd appreciate if somebody offered a way out. The email I sent to the support has been answered yet.

Solution- as I had the same problem,
**** you have to remove any disk from the player ****
Don't look for that in the manual, can't see it. Customer Hotline mentioned it. I had no problem getting through to them although some difficultly getting the tech guy to understand the problem.
