I posted about this problem on the stb forum, as I thought it was a problem with the stb. However, I now realise it is most likely the TV at fault, and Hitachi seems to agree, suggesting I ring their service agent.
My concern is that I may have set something up incorrectly and this is causing the problem. I don't want to have the service agent pay a visit and point out my obvious error, and then charge a fortune for his trouble. So if anyone can think of a set-up error or something else I may have done (with my big fat fingers
Problem:
"I have an LG 5100 HD STB connected to a Hitachi 32" LCD via DVI, with the audio via RCA (I think?). I also have a Supernet PVR connected to the same TV via S-Video.
When I am viewing through the LG STB and I change the volume of the TV, the picture drops out for about half a second, returns, drops out again and then returns. This happens whether I am viewing HD or SD channels.
However, when I am viewing through the PVR (live or recorded), I can change the volume without the picture dropping out.
Can anyone explain why this would occur?"
