A friend has just purchased an LG HD LCD television, an LG DVD combo recorder and LG HD stb all with component video. The TV has a DVI input and the stb a DVI output however when connected there is no signal shown on the TV.The tv menu allows the input selection for DVI as either (from memory) RGB or VGA, neither which have any effect.

If the HD STB is the 5100 has your friend changed the output on the STB by using the "Display Format" button (left hand of 4 buttons on front left of STB) to DVI and then press "Select" (2nd from Right)?
