I hava a supernet 8000t and when I record anything and go to play it back, it flashes up play on the display and reverts back to free to air. I have had the unit unpluged for a day and have erased the hard drive but still cannot play back any recordings, even reset factory default.
It used to work like a champ, NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!

bootloader s/1.7
firmware STBOS E3.41[B] 2005-08-22 11.28
S/N 01 77 6F B3 0D 00 00 57

Is it faulty hard drive or operator error?

thanks for any help

That doesn't sound good sad.gif I would be suspecting the hard drive.

Does the recording process seem to work, and the problem only arise when you try to play back?

Have you tried simply pressing the pause button while watching live TV (5 button while switched to PVR mode), waited for a few minutes and pushed play (ie using time slip)? It would be useful to know if was only related to recordings accessed via the folders or to all recordings.

One time only l had a similar problem and l think the early firmware wintals had a similar problem as well where there was an error in the recording that would casue the box to do this. Try pressing play and then quickly the 5 minute advance button. This would jump past the error and you could watch the rest of the recording. Not very convenient but if it only ever happens once then you can live with it. If it's repeatedly happening on your recordings first try unplugging it from the wall and then replug it back in. This surprisingly fixes many issues such as loss of EPG etc. If that fails maybe try to install the firmware again. If that fails then it might be time for a service.

I tried that last night and everything seems to be working again, I could record and watch it and also record and timeslip watch.

maybe the swearing at it fixed it.

thanks for your help

Just like any other computer, you're never sure what fixed it blink.gif

Glad it is all working for you, technology is great, when it is working.

Yes this is an old thread, but Ive had this problem in the past, I found the answer was to put the unit into standby, turn it on, press the pvr button, then 7 find the program press play, and press the button to skip 5 minutes.

You have to do it quickly before the PVR has time to think, but I always get it in time. smile.gif

I have a similar issue whereby I constantly have to unplug the power to
a/ make a recording work
b/ view a recording
Once I do the power cycle I can normally watch something I have recorded or start the record. I am hoping to not have to reformat the hard drive etc. Anyone help? (i have punched holes in the plastic to stop from overheating and the circuitry does not seem too black or anything)
