I'm new to this forum. Ok, here is my story: i have had the Teac DVB800 (running v1.07 fw) and Sony PFM42X1B Plasma for almost 1 year now. It's been working fine until i started using DVI connection. The problem is I only can set the format to 720P or less otherwise the plasma will just keep flicking (like lost sync) from time to time. It seems the plasma can only pick up signals at 720p or less otherwise it just keeps flashing. I don't have anonther set top box to test but guessing my teac is the problem not being capable of sending signals at 1080i. Do you guys think it's normal for the teacDVB800? or I might send it to teac for service as it's still under warranty. Any help will be appreciated.

I have been using a Teac DVB800 connected via DVI to a Sharp Aquos LCDTV for a year now with no problems running at 1080i.

Running DVI at 1080i without a problem

running a dvb800 on my soniq via dvi, no probs........need to check the specs on your panel i guess and see that it does do 1080i (admittedly, 720p would be the less common resolution though)

hi, thanks for all the replys. i have found out that my teac receiver is faulty. i borrowed a humax-7000 from my mate and tested for more than 1 hr without any problem. so, i just have to send it to teac repair centre and see what they are going to do.

Don't be surprised if teac returns it to you not fixed. They might even sting you with a bill for working on it.
The problem may be an incompatibility between STB and TV with DVI which is quite a common problem. Do try the STB on another TV first. If that works then you are out of luck. You really should try out all interfaces when you buy it so you can still return it. You could then try it on with TEAC repair but they may just claim it is your TV at fault (is it still under warranty ?)

yeah, the box is still under warranty. another thing i found out during test is, when i first turn on the box from cool state it works fine for about 15 to 20 min then it starts flashing. so there are must be something playing up when the box gets heated up.
