Hi , im new to DTV and there are a lot of HD STB's to choose from so can someone give me an idea of what the most respected brands are?

Strong, Toshiba, Nextwave, LG and Teac are generally the brands that report less faults

When it comes to STBs, the brands are irrelevant.
Most are just re-labelled Chinese or Korean unknowns.
My advice is to buy based on models others on this forum have had good experiences with.

ALDI have a not too shabby SD for about $80-90 which I have seen in action and it does the job


Also seen, but not heard about, the HD version for $299 with all the trimmings.

It depends on your budget and current setup too.

I don't think there are many dawgs out there these days, but some would suggest avoiding the DGTecs.
