I have an LG 5100 HD STB connected to a Hitachi 32" LCD via DVI, with the audio via RCA (I think?). I also have a Supernet PVR connected to the same TV via S-Video. I have set up the LG STB remote to control the TV volume and on/off etc.

When I am viewing through the LG STB and I change the volume of the TV, the picture drops out for about half a second, returns, drops out again and then returns. This happens whether I control the TV volume via the LG STB remote control or the TV remote, and whether I am viewing HD or SD channels.

However, when I am viewing through the PVR (live or recorded), I can change the volume without the picture dropping out, even if I change the TV volume using the LG STB remote.

Can anyone explain why this would occur?

Sorry if my post seemed a little blunt, but I was in a hurry when I posted wub.gif

Does anyone else suffer picture dropouts when changing volume, either with the same stb or others? Could it be related to the DVI and audio connection I am using? I have not tried connecting via component instead to see if it makes a difference. I have trouble getting to the back of my units due to the cabinet they are in, so hoped someone may have some knowledge of it before I try.

If it is not a common problem, then I guess I must have a faulty stb.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
