My legend Twin Tuner PVR has stopped timer recording. I have noticed on each hour and at other times the unit time will move to one hour ahead and then revert to the correct time after about 3-5 minutes (even though the displayed program times remain correct). This seems to be affecting the timer record as nothing I have set will record. The unit only has a state time zone settings (and not a manual time setting). Do the digital broadcasters set the time or does the unit?
There isn't any firmware update yet (as far as I can see) for this model.

GoR,

Are you sure its just the time that's jumping around? What about the date bit (including year)? If the unit doesn't have a manual time mode, then it is getting the time from the broadcaster (which is constantly sent by them.) Unfortunately its not 100% reliable which can cause problems like the time jumping forward, the unit thinks the timer has finished so moves it forward to the next relevant spot (Check your timer dates as they may all be forward several years).

You'd hope the firmware had a 'break' on the amount the time could change from minute to minute but it appears many manufacturers are just assuming the broadcast time is always correct. All it takes is one second mis-broadcast and your timers get jumped around. They also don't reset back when the time returns to normal as otherwise the recording you set to happen in two weeks would get shuffled back to this week incorrectly.

Don't know if this is what's happening to you and don't own a Legend but the same issue plagues the Toppy (fortunately they have a manual time setting though)

Is the jumping occuring on all stations or just the one? It would seem unusual for the issue to be happening so continuously as it is a fairly rare occurance these days. Fingers crossed somethings a bit screwy in the machine itself and you can get it fixed. Possibly put in a request for this in the next firware.

The latest firmware upgrades should let you manually set the time. My Legend PVR does allow you to manually set time however mine is one of the older non-component versions. I don't use the network time as it is all over the place.

Assuming it's the new PVR with the twin scart the latest firmware can be found here:

Dated September 2005.

Allows manual setting of time ( as did the previous version I believe ).

Hope this helps.
